有哪些方法可以防止廢油污染呢?
1. Detergent消毒
This is sprayed on to the surface of the oil from a tug(具有強力引擎的小船,通常用來拉大船進港) fitted with special spraying equipment. Detergent makes an oil slick(油層) break up into smaller parts, allowing it to break down more easily into harmless matter.
2. Absorbent吸收
Material such as straw or polystyrene is thrown onto the oil from a tug. It soaks up the oil and burnt or buried on land.
3. Sinking 沉澱
Specially treated sand is thrown onto the oil, making it sink to the sea floor.
4. Using a boom 使用隔離管
A boom is a thick rubber tube filled with air which floats on the sea. Oil is halted (停止) by the boom and so is prevented from reaching beaches, harbours, etc.
5. Beach cleaning 淨攤
Special beach buggies(沙灘車) have been designed to spray detergent. The beach buggies can be driven up and down a polluted beach spraying the detergent.
6. Burning 燃燒
Although it can be a difficult and dangerous process, oil may be set alight when it is floating. But this is only effective if done immediately the oil starts to leak.
Frank在課程結束前把同學分成不同的族群,明天要舉行辯論,我跟Benoit都是居民,其他同學有的是漁夫,有的是石油公司,我們要提出大家的看法,中午吃完飯Benoit就請我到附近的Bar邊喝卡布奇諾邊談我們的論點,包括鯨魚、海鷗、海獅大量死在沙灘上、汽油的味道會讓我們逐漸中毒、觀光收入下降、稀有動物瀕臨絕種、水問題、空氣污染等等, 以及我們要提出的需要—10億英鎊,但是不只是錢的問題,我們還希望石油公司可以更換成先進的油輪,以免問題一再發生、建立近海地層圖以防觸礁、設置雷達站及燈塔、建立學校協助孩童認識海洋及生態、定期開放油輪給居民參觀及檢視、與國際組織例如紅十字會合作檢定水質、提出收入的1%與其他的石油公司合作研發其他能源等，我們太認真討論,所以下午13:15的課我們13:40才到!
